It is hard to imagine suffering being a good thing. And although I'm not sure any of us can call it a good thing, we do know that God wants to use our suffering for greater purposes. But that is dependent on our cooperation. If we respond correctly to our suffering, we grow and we glorify God. If we respond incorrectly to suffering, we simply sin. This passage of Scripture can help us better understand our suffering in the context of our past, present and future.
